CUBAN SALSA SUMMER CAMP
Week 30: Sunday 19. - Saturday 25. July 2020
If you like Salsa and Cuban rhythms, this is where it happens! Come and get a lot of inspiration and Salsa at Bosie Idrætshøjskole on your summer holiday by Præstø, South Zealand, in Denmark. We have held the Salsa Summer Camp since 2004, and have classes for all levels. Everyone can participate, singles and couples.
OBS! At the moment there are only vacancies for men! And women with enrollment partners of the opposite sex. If you sign up as a woman (without a partner) you will be put on a waiting list.
Guidelines on this site have been updated on 17/6. The authorities and DGI, have adapted the already existing rules, which apply to colleges in general under the corona, which states that within groups of 8 people, you can have close relationships, and now it includes couples dancing. This means that within each class we will ask the same 8 people to change dance partners. That way, you should not dance with the same person for a whole or half-day, but can change continuously, also in the evening. If you have your own partner, you can also choose to dance with the same throughout the course.
We have also created a Facebook group, where it is possible to find a dance partner among those who are registered if you want to be a little ahead.
Join us for an experience for life, meet new people, and learn a lot of dance. When you have first tried our camp, we guarantee that you will get hooked :-)
There will be 5 different levels: Beginner, Improvers, Intermediate, Advanced and Very Advanced
If you are in doubt about your dance level, see our guide under levels and dance styles.
There are 5 hours of daily classes with breaks, spread two times a day. At this camp we have one big camp with all levels together. Classes take place in different rooms.
The teaching is very intensive. Besides Salsa, you will dance a lot of other styles at the course: Reggaeton, Bachata, Son, Afro-Cuban dance and Rumba. These dances will be taught in the afternoon, and in the morning there will be taught Salsa only.
You do not have to have a dance partner to attend, but it's always good if you try to find a friend who will participate as we always strive to make the number of men and women evenly distributed. If you already dance, just ask one on your dance team or network, if the Salsa Summer Camp is something for them. You always change your partner on each team so everyone is constantly dancing with a lot of different people (including those who come in pairs) if they like to.
To you who have never tried to dance Salsa before, we can ensure you that everyone who has been at the camp the previous years have been able to dance at the end of the course :)
To all of you who already dance, we always have a lot of new things to offer. The teaching is very inspiring, fun and educational.
The dance teachers and musicians at the camp
Diana Rodriguez Garcia, Julio Napoles, Yorgenis Danger Garcia, Yolaidis Mendez Brown, Solangel Fernandez, Saul Perez Valdes, Yaima Viera Palli, Demis González Miranda, Anier Sanchez Sandova, Yunier Oviedo Robertson, Leydis Teodoro Delis and Henri Benítez Hourrutinier, Daysiris Jiménez Pulido, Jaime Herrea, Tomas Jimeno, Juan Carlos Sierra Hernandez and Boris Rodrigues Bueno.
